Honest Limitations
Most tools bury this page. We lead with it. Here is exactly what Askube cannot do yet — updated every time something changes.
Video Support
- Does not support private or unlisted YouTube videos — transcripts must be publicly accessible.
- Does not support non-YouTube video platforms (Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, etc.) yet.
- Videos without captions or auto-generated transcripts cannot be processed.
- Live streams and premieres are not supported.
Multi-Video Features
- Cannot compare two or more videos side-by-side in a single query.
- No playlist-level Q&A — each video is processed individually.
Summaries & Structure
- Automatic chapter summaries are not yet available — you need to ask explicitly.
- Table of contents generation is not automatic.
Collaboration
- No team workspaces or shared history yet.
- No role-based access controls.
- No API access for developers at this time.
Accuracy
- Answers are only as accurate as the video's auto-generated transcript. Heavily accented speech, technical jargon, or poor audio quality can produce transcript errors that affect answers.
- Askube cannot fact-check claims made in a video — it reports what the speaker said, not whether it's true.
Language
- Works best with English-language videos. Other languages depend on YouTube's transcript quality and may produce lower-accuracy answers.
We ship updates every week. If something on this list has changed, it means we built it. Check our public changelog to see what's new.
