Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 16, 2025 · Last updated: April 16, 2025
Askube (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the website getaskube.com and the Askube Chrome Extension (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide via Google Sign-In
We use Google Sign-In (OAuth 2.0) for authentication. When you sign in with Google, we receive the following information from Google:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture URL
- A unique Google account identifier
We use this information solely to create and manage your Askube account. We do not use your Google data to serve advertisements or share it with third-party marketers. We do not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Google Contacts, or any other Google service beyond your basic profile and email address.
1.2 Notion Integration Data
If you connect your Notion workspace to Askube, we receive an OAuth access token that allows us to read your Notion databases and create pages on your behalf. We store the workspace name and workspace ID to identify the connection. We only access Notion data you explicitly direct us to access (e.g., when you export content to a specific database). We do not read, copy, or store the content of your Notion pages beyond what is necessary to complete the export action.
1.3 Usage Data
When you use the Service, we automatically collect:
- YouTube video URLs you submit for analysis
- Chat messages and questions you send within the Service
- Content you generate (social posts, flashcards, transcripts, presentations)
- Feature usage patterns (which tools you use and how often)
- Your plan type and credit balance
- IP address and browser/device type (collected by our hosting infrastructure)
1.4 Payment Information
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your credit card or bank account details. We retain transaction records including the Razorpay order ID, payment ID, plan purchased, amount, currency, and payment status for billing and support purposes.
1.5 Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how the Service is used. This service collects anonymized, aggregated data about page views and interactions. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
1.6 Local Storage
We store your authentication token and basic profile information (name, email, profile picture URL) in your browser's localStorage to keep you signed in between sessions. This data never leaves your device except as part of authenticated API requests to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
- To provide the core features of the Service: video analysis, chat, content generation, and export.
- To enforce usage limits, manage your credit balance, and process billing.
- To respond to support requests and feedback you send to us.
- To improve and develop the Service based on how it is used.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., payment confirmations, account notices). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit opt-in.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We share data with trusted vendors (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing) who process it on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent: We may share data in any other circumstances with your explicit consent.
4. Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure
Askube's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide and improve the features described in this Privacy Policy.
- We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements.
- We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless you have given explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or we are required to do so by law.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition in which we notify the user and obtain consent as required.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will permanently delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes (e.g., billing records required by tax law). Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection / Restriction: Object to or request restriction of certain types of processing.
- Revoke Notion integration: You can disconnect your Notion workspace at any time from your Askube settings page.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at prithvi@getaskube.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure storage practices for data at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with or links to the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

10. Changes to This Policy

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
